TNVHA Network Activities

WORD has been serving as the District Facilitation Centre (DFC) for reproductive health rights and HIV/AIDS in Namakkal District under the TNVHA network- a network of NGOs in Tamilnadu with the motto of health through people.

Under this network, WORD co-ordinate the TNVHA network members on RHR and HIV/AIDS components and to lead in front on the above said issues with sharing technical expertise and resources. WORD also taking efforts to pool the resources and data on the above said issues at the district level to effectively address these issues and to serve as a data bank.

With the funding support of TNVHA, WORD implements and co-ordinates with the following project in Namakkal District.

1. Youth Empowerment Project
2. Social Exclusion Project.

Youth Empowerment Project

From December 2006, WORD has been implementing a project which is unique in kind on the empowerment of youth through gender sensitization with the support of TNVHA/IRISH Embassy. Under this project, WORD as a DFC co-ordinates with four other NGOs in Namakkal District in the capacity building of youth with life skills and reproductive and sexual health education. A master trainer leads in the front from WORD with the other 5 NGO trainers to monitor and implement the field level activities to equip the capacity of the rural youth.

Social Exclusion Project:

From November 2007, WORD has been implementing and co-ordinating with the social exclusion project with four other NGOs. The aim of the project is to have a social mainstream of the dalit people, differently- abled people and people living with HIV/AIDS in the society
