Under the South
Central India Network for Development Alternatives (SCINDeA)
network the following projects are being implemented in
Pallipalayam Block in Namakkal District.

This Community Based STI Intervention Project among women has been extended to the 3rd year with concentrating more on STI/HIV/AIDS capacity building program for adolescent girls, identifying and promoting peer educators, review of peer educators' activities, IGP activities for PLHAs for better living conditions, condom promotion through Non-Traditional Outlets components. Now, as a care initiative, the project entitled, “Mainstreaming of HIV/AIDS in Development work” has now been initiated from October 2007.
From November 2006, an integrated community development project has been initiated in 15 villages of Pallipalayam Block. In each village, multi-purpose Social workers are in place. The major activities include Community Health Development, Integrated child Health, Socio-Economic development for rural youth and women, Environmental protection and sustainable agriculture.
