Under the daily bread scheme Rs 2, 00,000 to assist 20 women from 2 SHGs with capital input under the self employment program of Daily bread scheme of Ecumenical Church Loan Fund of India (ECLOF- India), Chennai. Hence 20 women from the women self groups were able to establish their own income generation programs. The poor people who live in the brink of subsistence and often have to sell their limited assets or get into bonded labour (a form of indentured servitude) to survive for themselves and for their families, by providing the working capital and seed money to start for their own ventures, the poor people generate income, build assets and move towards self-reliance. It also paved a way to spur the rural economy at the village level.
