Promotion
of Adolescent Heatlh
This
program is being carried out with the financial assistance
from International Services Association (INSA-INDIA), Bangalore.
This program is especially designed as an educational process
by facilitating the school students of Std VIII to Std X towards
the socio-cultural, emotional, spiritual, physical, mental
health, basic Health and Hygiene and intellectual well being.
It basically aims at supporting their safer transition from
childhood to healthy adulthood.
This
project was also a natural transition form on HIV/AIDS prevention
education. With the co-operation and fullest support from
the school management and teachers the program conducted successfully.
The final year of the project, the ten important Life Skills
Education (LSE) components [Management of stress, Awareness
of self, Decision making, Emotional management, Empathy, Problem
Solving, Interpersonal relations, Critical thinking, Creative
and communication skills] have also been included in the curriculum
of the program put forth by WHO. As
a part of this project, a participatory workshop imparting
Life Skills Education Techniques through the method of Transformation
of Health was conducted in association with INSA-INDIA at
Namakkal for the NGOs implementing HIV/AIDS projects in Tamilnadu.
