In the year 1996, with the help of State Social Welfare Board, Tamilnadu a program on Awareness generation programme for rural women was executed. Comprehensive lectures were given to the people by eminent personalities to the rural women on the topics on status of women in home and society, fundamental and Constitutional rights fro women in the society and legal procedures, Women and Health, Community Health and Hygiene, Women, Technology and Environment, Women and State Government, Women and Social Action, Through this program, awareness in Social status, equal rights in society etc., were given and they were made to understand themselves first and then the society.
